Organic Form

Forms of nature from shorelines, jungle, desert and forest. My connection to earth is a deep one and perhaps my favourite subject to explore.

    Castle Rocks

Skeletal and sculptural are the distinct pinky rocks on the Meelup beachside of the Cape Naturaliste region in Western Australia. These forms make up a unique gallery on the waters edge. WA, 2018

    Refined Raw

I continue to enjoy unlikely pairings of rawness in nature with man made objects. The result is complimentary, where imperfection is celebrated and clean lines of manufacture are softened. 2018

    Agave

Californian desert gardens are famous for their giant agaves. What I didn't expect was to be captured by the stunning sage green tones of these desert beasts. I loved it so much I created a limewash paint colour from this botanical influence with Bauwerk Colour in 2016.

    Desert Mobile

The best double back I ever made, to uncover this hidden highway scene en route to Joshua Tree National Park. It taught me a lesson - if you are feeling a photograph, then pull over and take it! Probably my favourite sunset moment in the Mojave desert. California, 2015

    Dragon Tree

Things that take a long time to grow have a similar kind of mystery to me as do flowers that last a day or few. The Dragon Tree is a patient beast and I adore both the architectural form as well as the softness of their green tone fronds. On an overcast day it was like a moody velvet in front of my lens.

    Saguaro

The largest and my favourite of all desert cactus, the Saguaro. These mammoth creatures dominate the highway to Joshua Tree National Park within the Mojave desert region. 2015

    Cholla Garden

Close to the south entrance to the Joshua Tree National Park trail lies a small area dominated by the very distinct Cholla Cactus. Our villa manager told us about this plantation and that we check it out around sunset which we did that night. I still feel that it's the calmest place on earth. Joshua Tree, 2015

    Conservatory

Opening the doors to the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers is like landing on a green planet. If I didn't already know how much I loved botanicals this place turned my heart green. 2015
